Late Night, Early Morning; Great Day!

I haven’t been feeling good the last few days and instead of a nurse waking me up it was my stomach that woke me up waiting to go off like Old Faithful.

So needless to say, keeping any food or liquids down hasn’t been in the card for me since late night.  Once the puking stopped, my stomach offered me a new surprise….contractions!  At first I didn’t know what I was feeling, I just knew if didn’t feel pleasant.

The nurses got me hooked up to an IV in hopes that the contractions were coming on due to dehydration.  Once I got some fluids in me I started to feel much better, but the contractions didn’t stop.  My doctor came in about 6:00am and decided to start me on some medication that will help stop the contractions and he also called his office to have them check my cervix at my weekly ultrasound appointment today.

Although so much was going on and all I wanted to do was sleep; it was actually a great day.  I love when I get to see the twins on the Ultrasound screen!  We got such amazing news today when we found out that both the babies had grown a pound since December 17th.

Addison weighed in at 2lbs 11 ounces and Lilly weighed 2lbs 14ounces!  The twins are actually weighing what most singleton babies do at this stage in development!  We feel so blessed.  I’ve yet to shake off my perma-grin.  We also found out that my cervix is NOT dilated and we continue to pray that the contractions will stop.

When Travis and I got back to my room I told Travis we should celebrate by eating a McDonalds Big Mac and even though he wasn't all for it, he went and got me a Big Mac.  Don’t know why I was craving it, but boy was it good.
