Since the day I arrived I’ve had to get shots of Heparin in my stomach twice a day. (Heparin is a blood thinner which aids in the prevention of blood clots and since I’m stuck in the bed all day I’m at a high risk for blood clots).
I really don’t know what’s worse; the fact that I have to get them on my stomach or the fact that it burns like crazy. I’ve actually been one of the lucky ones because I haven’t had much bruising from the shots unlike other patients. But either way, it’s not something I look forward to!
I’ve decided to start a countdown to my very last Heparin shot. Thus far I have received 52 shots in my stomach and only 52 more to go! Half way there!
